Hello lovelys! I am a painter in Austin, Texas and host a figure painting session once a week. I am focusing on my new personal vision for my art and will post a few paintings to get started.
I am in the process of becoming a really good painter. I say in the process now because it does take work and this kind of work I do adore. Like most other artists, I have other things in my life going on that are pulling me away from the brushes. For me, it has been returning to school and working on a second degree, the first was a BFA from UT Austin and now 3D Animation at Austin Community College. The more I am at the computer, the more I get mad I am not painting you see, but we all do a balancing act in life and must navigate to get where we are going.
Thanks to another artist's Megan Van Groll's wonderful blog, I will be working on a new Artist Statement, along with getting other professional updating taken care of. This stuff is what most artists forget about so it is nice to be reminded.
I am taking the summer off from school to work at any job that will pay for paint and I will be out making new connections and new artist companeros whenever and wherever I can. I am really excited about the personal growth taking place and I hope it is contagious and encouraging to others.
